About the Author

Colleen Meier has been a teacher in the Central New York area for over ten years. In 2001, she was honored to receive a Human Rights award from the Auburn Human Rights Council for her work with disadvantaged children of diverse backgrounds.
Mrs. Meier has been analyzing and scoring the 4th grade York State English Language Arts Assessment since 1999. It includes the graphic organizers and writing templates she created in her classroom to help all of her students become better readers, writers and test takers.
Mrs. Meier also teaches a methods course to pre-service teachers at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York.
